The 87th Academy Awards (2015 Oscar) Nominations were announced by Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, directors Alfonso Cuarón, J.J. Abrams and actor Chris Pine, Thursday, January 15, 2015, 5:30 AM/PT at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, Beverly Hills, California. Nine Oscar nominations went to Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu and The Grand Budapest Hotel, directed by Wes Anderson, including Best Picture; and eight nominations went to The Imitation Game, directed by Morten Tyldum including Best Director.


The 87th Academy Awards presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (A.M.P.A.S.) for outstanding film achievements of 2014, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris will be held at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre & Highland Center and televised live on ABC Network and in over 220 countries worldwide on Sunday, February 22, 2015, 7:00 PM/ET | 4:00 PM/PT.

The 24th New York Jewish Film Festival (NYJFF 2015) commence January 14-29, 2015 at the Walter Reade Theater and Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center in Lincoln Center, New York. Presented by the Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the festival will showcase 47 films from eleven countries.  NYJFF 2015 Opening and Closing Night Premieres are The Muses of Isaac Bashevis Singer, directed by Asaf Galay and Shaul Betser; and Felix and Meira, directed by Maxime Giroux.

The 2015 Sundance Film Festival presented by the Sundance Institute will be held at Park City, Utah, Thursday, January 22 - Sunday, February 1, 2015.
